James Reese Jr, son of Enos and Lydia Bolick Reese was born on May 29, 1887 in Skidmore, Missouri. He attended the Goodwill School southwest of Skidmore. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge.
In 1914, he married Merl Elizabeth Smith. She died in 1945. They had four daughters, Ruth, Lydia, Charlotte, and Fern.
James owned a cafe in Skidmore for a short time. In September 1953 he married Bethie Harris Kempf.
James died September 3, 1957 and is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
