The local service for our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Edith House, will be graveside on her birthday, Friday, May 9th, 10am, at Brookside Memorial Hwy 59 at Lauder Road. This is South of Humble (13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039). The space is directly behind the old stone chapel which is toward the Southwest of the cemetery. Mother lived the last 25 years of her life in Austin and Cedar Park. Her remains will be transported from there for the graveside service. Brookside Funeral Services will handle interment. There will not be a local viewing, etc., only the graveside service. We will then adjourn to 2223 Hickory Manor Dr in Huffman for a light meal and fellowship. All are welcome to join us, we only ask that your private message me in order that we might have sufficient food and drink on hand. Once again, thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers.

Edith House, RN, passed away peaceably this morning. Mother worked for many years in nursing. She graduated at 14 from High School and applied at Memorial Nursing School in Houston where she was accepted based on her high school diploma and grades. However, when she was about to graduate the school found she was enrolled in error, because the rule was students had to be 18 to enroll. They were going to kick her out, but she was to be the valedictorian! They swept her age under the rug, and she became an outstanding nurse as an LD specialist, and school nurse.

Mother was a strong WWII generation woman who was devoted to her family and friends. She loved children, especially babies and doted on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she has many. She had a strong testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ all her long life of 90 years.
