Patrick "Bud" Gene Hamilton, 72, of Union, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab in Eldora.

Patrick Hamilton was born on March 26, 1942 in Bendavis, Missouri to Patrick W and Nellie Eunice Collins Hamilton. Bud was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1960 until he was honorably discharged in 1963. Bud started his working career at Culligans in Marshalltown before going into construction in Minnesota and Michigan. Bud was an avid fisherman and enjoyed nature and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed the time spent with his dogs, Kia and Lucky. Bud was a very family oriented man. He enjoyed spending time with his immediate family as much as the time spent with extended family.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Tiffany (Jamie Howell) Creekmuir of Mason City. Siblings; Irma Haney of Houston, Missouri, Patsy Hutcheson of Fort Collins, Colorado, Leon Hamilton of Tennessee and Linda (Jim) Bruce of Union, Iowa. His ex wife Sherry Creekmuir and his precious dog; Kia.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents and his dog Lucky.

Memorial services for Patrick "Bud" Gene Hamilton, 72, of Union, were held at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Pastor Roger Crawford officiated and Ashton Powers provided special music.

Full Military Honors were performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Harry C. Harter Post #839 and American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46, assisted by Bruce Simms of the United States Marine Corps, Adan Reischauer of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Gavin Lewis and the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. J.J. Simms of the United States Marine Corps was included as honorary for military honors. Bud will be laid to rest at a later date.

Guests were present from Boilermakers #83.
