A Young Man Leaves the City Suddenly Three Days Before His Marriage

Miss Addie Halsey, a young music teacher living with her adopted parents at No. 255 Courtland street, was to have been married last Wednesday to Joseph Hilts, a young man living with his sister, Mrs. Marshall, on Dare street. Invitations were issued to the friends of the young couple, but on Wednesday morning the members of Miss Halsey's family called on those who had received invitations and informed them that the wedding would not take place. The reason for the postponement of the nuptials is because of the disappearance of Hilts, the bridegroom who was to be. On Sunday Hilts called on his affianced bride. He said staid at the house till about 11 o'clock and then went home. He went to his room and then left the house and since then his sister has not heard from him. The only explanation for his queer action is that some time ago he told his sister that people had been talking about Miss Halsey.

Hilts is a young man and has been working for the Brush electric light company since last April.

Married Her After All

During the first part of last month West Side gossips were wagging their tongues over a miniature McMillin-Riddle postponement of marriage in which the interested parties were Mr. Joseph Hilts and Miss Addie Halsey. It was said that the wedding day had been fixed and guests invited when Hilts suddenly lit out. His weakness was attributed to family obligations to his mother.

Yesterday afternoon Miss Halsey, who is a music teacher at No. 255 Courtland street, appeared in the probate court and took out a license for herself and Mr. Hilts. Both Miss Halsey and Mr. Hilts stated yesterday that he marriage would take place at 9:30 p.m., and Rev. Frank Mason Hall would perform the service.
