Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet. Betty Hubbard Biles grew up in Colleyville, when Colleyville was "really country." She attended Pleasant Run Elementary School and Grapevine School and graduated from Riverside High School. Upon graduation from high school, she received a scholarship to Our Lady of Victory Junior College. She enrolled in North Texas State Teachers College and was awarded a bachelor of business administration in August 1947. Betty worked for Gulf Oil Corp. for a year and went to work as an administrative assistant for the Castleberry school district until 1953. At that time, she became a full-time mother. Betty's husband, Jerry, died suddenly Jan. 26, 1983; he had worked for IBM for 31 years. She was very active at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Haltom City, where she was a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class, the Administrative Board and United Methodist Women.
