Eadsville was a tiny town that no longer exists. It was approximately 5 or less miles from the Arthur farm. Probably had a Post Office and General Store. Monticello was the nearest substantial city.

James continued working fathers farm. Son William born 1913. Now a family of three, with one son.

Feb 1914 at the age of 20 James and Effie were living in New Castle, Indiana for their first attempt to find a home and farm land. They had trouble finding a suitable farm at a reasonable price. They stayed in New Castle for three months and then moved back to his fathers farm in Kentucky.

May 1914 they were once again living in Eadsville, Wayne, Kentucky. James and Effie moved back to work on his fathers farm. Their son Charlie was born in 1915, Howard born in 1916, and Edward in 1918. As of 1918, they are a family of six, with four sons.

In 1915 Harrison made a few acres available for James, Effie and sons to farm and live on.

In 1918 at the age of 24 they moved to Jacksonville, Morgan, Illinois The couple set out again and moved their small family to start a farm. The same result as earlier. This time James got a job as a farm hand. Stayed six months and once again moved back to fathers land in Wayne County, Kentucky.

In 1920 at the age of 26 James had given up on farming and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana for a temporary job with the railroad in Brightwood. Could not get on as a permanent employee. Stayed three more months and moved back to fathers land in Kentucky. Son Cecil born 1922. Now a family of seven.

In 1923 they changed their mind again and moved to an area around Jacksonville and Effingham, Illinois and rented a farm. Worked out a little better this time. Stayed through 1928. Daughter Frances born in 1924, Rose in 1925 and Mary in 1928. Now a family of ten!

Sept 3, 1928 at the age of 34 they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at 2909 Wood St. Moved family back to Indianapolis. Purchased or rented a house at 2909 Wood St. (Now Gladstone Ave) Worked for the railroad, delivered milk and worked at a veneer factory. Della, Irene, Norman, Dorris and Dottie were born here.
