Bertha J. Gladfelter YORK-Bertha J. Gladfelter, 89, formerly of Towson, Md., died Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 1:30 a.m. at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Claude E. Gladfelter, Sr. A viewing will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. The service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Mortuary with Rev. Stan Ukwe officiating. Burial will be in Moreland Memorial Park, Baltimore, Md. Born July 11, 1914 in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael Basta, Sr. and late Anna (Bellman) Basta. She was a former member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church in Parkville, Md. She is survived by her son and his wife, Claude E. Gladfelter, Jr. and his wife Linda. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
