Gravel Hill Community of Carroll County - Dalton Alford, age 80, died on Tuesday April 29, 2014 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was born on July 13, 1933 to the Late: J.E. and Helen (Buchanan) Alford and resided there all of his life. He was a retired cattleman and farmer, and served as a deacon of the New Hope Christian Church in Carroll County. He was a dedicated husband and loving father and grandfather.

Visitation will be held on Friday 05/02/2014 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be held Friday 05/02/2014 3:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS with the Rev Larry Edwards officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery in Carroll County. Pallbearers will be Marc Alford, Todd Alford, Kit Colvin, Jeff Dunn, James Locke, and Chuck Mims.

He is survived by his Wife, of 59 years, Emma Dunn Alford of Gravel Hill, 3 Daughters, Nita(Johnny) Farrish of Carroll County, Rita (Gil) Shaw of Carrollton, MS, and Ann (Terry) Whitfield of Carroll County, 6 Grandchildren, Denise Pyron, Alisha Farrish, Michelle Downs, Chris Shaw, Jamey Shaw, and Code Whitfield, 8 Great-Grandchildren, Brandon Pyron, Kendall Pyron, John Pyron, Gavin Pyron, Braylen Downs, William Shaw, Madeleine Shaw, and Dalton Shaw.
