Theresa C. Richardson, age 65, of Platteville, passed away after a twenty year battle with heart disease on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. She was born on June 24, 1948, in Cuba City, the daughter of Elmer and Ione (Simon) Jansen. Theresa graduated from Southwestern High School in Hazel Green in 1966. She married Roger D. Richardson on April 15, 1972 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler. Theresa was employed at Wal-Mart, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Roger, in their semi. Theresa loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her newly born great-granddaughter, Maya Catherine.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her step-father, Ed Spoerre; sisters-in-law, Jackie Jansen and Veronica "Vicki" Shaw; father-in-law, Levi Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 12:00 noon at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
