Amelia C. "Meal" Harrison, 74, of Downingtown, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of Robert G. Harrison, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Gara DiGiovantonio.
A 1951 graduate of Downingtown High School, she was employed as a receptionist with Dr. Beninati for 17 years, retiring in 2002.
A lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Downing-town, she enjoyed playing in her card club and traveling around the country. She was also an avid reader.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert Harrison Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Sinking Spring; a sister, Eleanor M. Singer of Downingtown; and a grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, March 19, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown.
