She was born in Greenville, Miss., where she graduated from Greenville High School. She then attended Mississippi Delta Community College, then received her degree from Delta State University. She taught at the public school Vocational Center for a number of years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Galey of Greenville, Miss.; a son, Joe L. Galey (Christie) of Greenville, Miss.; a daughter, Jenny Galey Hallman of Southaven, Miss.; her father-in-law, J.M. Galey of Greenville, Miss; two aunts, Heber Harrell of Greenville, Miss., and Mary Ellen Leftwich of Texas; an uncle, Jim Harrell of Greenville, Miss.; a cousin, Becky Gouvier (Drew) of Baton Rouge, La.; and two granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
