Ray D. Monroe, 84, of this city, died December 19, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

There were diabetic complications.

He was retired from General Motors.

He was born in Wayne County August 7, 1914, the son of Richard C. and Bessie Brown Monroe.

Mr. Monroe was a World War II veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Funeral rites were held at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Bro. Carroll Kakac officiating

Burial was in Veterans Cemetery at Maple Hill, with military rites at the cemetery.
