Anne Akers, 55, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born April 20, 1940 in Clover, S.C., the daughter of George W. and Katherine Wooten Gordon. On Aug. 28, 1965, she married Melvin Ray Akers in Bishopville, S.C. He survivies of the home. Mrs. Akers moved to Chillicothe in 1968 from Goldsboro, N.C. She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. Survivors also include a son, Timothy Wayne of Chillicothe; an aunt, Mildred Wooten of Clover, S.C.; and an uncle, Tom Gordon of Clover, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Kenneth Gordon of Clover, S.C. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe. Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. tonight and until service time on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made ot the Olive Branch Baptist Church, which may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
