NORTH ATTLEBORO - Miriam B. (Jones) Sfinas , 98, of Bellevue Avenue, North Attleboro, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at Golden Living, Garden Place in Attleboro.
Born in Proctor, Vt., on July 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Paul F. and Isabelle M. (Bates) Jones.
Miriam graduated from the School of Nursing of Hillsborough County General Hospital in Goffstown, N.H., in 1938.
She spent 27 years as a registered nurse at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, before retiring in 1980. During her employment she was well appreciated for the kind and compassionate care she gave to others.
After retirement, she devoted much of her time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her circle of friends, playing bridge, crossword puzzles and taking short trips.
She was the loving mother of Susan M. Frymark of North Attleboro, the grandmother of Michael J. Frymark of Wrentham and Kerri L. Frymark of Woonsocket, R.I., and the great-grandmother of Bryce McLeod and Saige McLeod, both of Woonsocket, R.I.
She was predeceased by her sisters Paula Theroux, Frances Graham and Ruth Parece.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Friday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. at North Purchase Cemetery, Route 152, Attleboro with Rev. Kelly Thibeault, officiating.
