Born Viola Lydia Pottorff on July 21, 1917 at Dodge City, she married Earnest Fick on Sept. 10, 1940, at Dodge City. He died May 5, 1987. She had been a Scott City resident since 1978, moving there from Oakley.
Vi and her husband Earnie were the founders of the Fick Museum at Oakley. She also taught art and wood carving prior to her final illness.
Memberships included First Christian Church and BW Club, Scott City.
Survivors included two sisters: Mildred Cramer and Dorothy Doll; and two brothers: Clarence Pottorff and Ellsworth Pottorff.
Services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 1987, form the First Christian Church, Scott City, with Rev. Dan Haggard officiating. Interment was in Healy Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Scott County Health Care Foundation or Cancer Fund.
