Mildred attended grade schools in Ford County and her first two years of high school in Cimarron. Her family moved to Healy and she graduated from Healy High School in 1938. After her graduation, she cared for several families after the birth of a new baby. She always talked about how she would have liked to be a delivery room nurse. She was devoted to their family and took great pride in being a homemaker. She was what her family called a "good cooker". She enjoyed finding and trying new recipes and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed being out-of-doors with her yard and flowers. She was instrumental in planting and tending several tree groves. Mildred was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church of Dighton and past member of Healy Rebecca Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Delbert Dean; one brother, Clarence Pottorff; and three sisters, Neola Hessman, Dorothy Gall and Viola Fick.
Survivors include her son, Dexter and Judith Cramer of Healy; daughter, Kay and Guy Martin of Frederick, Colorado; brother, Ellsworth and Sis Pottorff of Vona, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Mitzi and Robert Gardner of Douglass, Rhonda and Wes McKinney of Englewood, Dean and Cindy Cramer of Healy, Shirley and Matt Frankenbery of Pittsburg, Cristi and David Marshall of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Shelly and Jeff Pomeroy of Johnston, Colorado, Brian Martin of Littleton, Colorado; 11 great-grandsons, and ten great-grandaughters.
