Memorial Services for Vicki L. Dempsey, age 56, of O’Neill, will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Burial will be at the Inman Cemetery at a later date. She passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
She is survived by her children; Melissa Dempsey of Rapid City, SD, Shane Dempsey and Nicole Plessel of Omaha, NE, Aaron Dempsey of Wakefield, KS, grandson Kamden Dempsey of Omaha, NE, parents, Gerald and Barbara Heien of Hurley, NM, 3 sisters; Cindy Soukup and husband Eugene of O’Neill, Beth Wilson of Silver City, NM, Twila Hoferer of Silver City, NM, and brother Mike Heien of Silver City, NM.
Vicki was born on February 24, 1958 in Bagdad, AZ, to Gerald and Barbara (Tinnin) Heien. She attended grade school in Bagdad, AZ, then moved to O’Neill when she was 12. She graduated from O’Neill High School in 1976, then attended Wayne State College. She worked for several years at the Golden Living Center in O’Neill as a C.N.A.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jake and Irene Heien, and Floyd and Della Tinnin.
