Mrs. Ackerman Passes Away
Mrs. Katharina Ackerman, 77, passed away yesterday morning at her residence, 338 Mape st., after a short illness.
Mrs. Ackerman had made her home in Lodi since 1936. Born in Newdorf, South Russia, Jan 30, 1877, she came to America with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Krein in 1885. The family settled in Wishek, N.D.
In 1896, she was married to Peter Ackerman, who survived in Ashey, N.D. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1946.
Mrs. Ackerman was a member of the Ebenezer Congregational Church of Lodi.
Besides her husband, the deceased leaves two sons, John Walter Ackerman, of North Dakota, and Edwin P. Ackerman of Glendale, Calif., and two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Ritter and Mra. Martha Anderson, both of Stockton.
She was the sister of Jacob and Christ Krein, both of Wishek; John Krein, Trail City, N.D.; Christina Boscher of Zeeland, N.D., and Anna Stabler of Billings, Mont.
Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
