Miss Catherine Ryan
Word was received this morning of the death in Washington, D.C. yesterday of Miss Catherine Ryan, sister of the late Mrs Margaret Sheridan and Miss Elizabeth Ryan of Washington.
Miss Ryan, who had reached an advanced age lived in Cumberland all her life, until a year ago when failing in health, she went to an institution for the care of the aged in Washington. Miss Ryan was employed for many years in the family of Judge Hunter Boyd and has a host of friends who will mourn her departure. She was noted for her Christian character, cheerful and unselfish nature and her loyalty and devotion to her church, her friends and her duties. The body will be brought to this city tonight and taken to the home of J Thurston Boyd. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from St Patrick's Church
