Bob Barlow, the world's best husband, dad and grandpa, suddenly moved on to his next grand adventure on April 21, 2014, and so long as there's fishing involved he'll be happy. Bob was born in Salt Lake City on November 10, 1935 as the oldest child of Elmer Wright Barlow and Margaret Helen Burningham. He spent most of his life in Bountiful, Utah, raising hell as a young man and acting like a big kid the rest of the way. Right to the end he was working hard and enjoying every minute. Bob was a good friend and always willing to help anyone. His passions were driving truck, fishing at The Gorge, "camping" in his 5th-wheel, outings with family and friends - especially time spent at Lake Powell, playing cards, and fixing anything that either was or was not broken. He married the love of his life, Ada Joann Diamond of Springville, Utah, in the Salt Lake Temple on May 6, 1955. Bob is survived by his wife, son Scott (Karen) Barlow of West Valley City, daughter Janae (Rob Wilkerson) of Orem, daughter Tamera Donavon of Bountiful, brothers Kay (Becky) Barlow and Jim (Diane) Barlow, and sister DeAnn (John) Knight, all of Bountiful. He is also survived by grandchildren Brandon (Cassia) Smith, Chera (C.B.) Fernelius, Shannon (Ammon) Bryson, Ashley (JC) Reyes, Curtis (Lara) Smith, Shelby (Andrew) King, Katie Donavon and Tommy Donavon, and great-grandchildren Brighton, Trinity, Collin, Landon, Alden, Porter, Hayden, Delilah, Ruby, Brigham, Hadley, and Liam. Everyone's name became "Art" if they wanted anything from grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson, Andre.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 26, with viewings held Friday, April 25 from 6-8 pm and Saturday from 9:30-10:45 am, all at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, UT. Interment at Bountiful City Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
