Mark Ethen McFarland Jr. of Malvern

Mark Ethen McFarland, Jr. (Lil Mark), 30, of Malvern, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2014 at his residence. Born on Dec. 13, 1983, he was the son of Tracy Stairs, wife of James Stairs, Sr. of Malvern and Mark E. McFarland, Sr. spouse of Mike Lobb of Delaware. Mark attended Great Valley Senior High School. Mark found great satisfaction as a landscaper for John Robie Contracting Company and he loved his job. Mark had a great interest in history, enjoyed being around his family; as well as helping out whenever he could. Mark had a huge heart and was loved by many. His most sincere joy were his two boys and spending time with them because they meant the world to him. Surviving him, in addition to his parents, are his sons, Connor, 5 and Bryan, 3; his companion, Megan Herzog; a brother, Matthew E. McFarland; paternal grandmother, Mary Ortlip; step-brothers, James E. Stairs, Jr., Jason and Ryan Stairs; and a step-sister, Jennifer Stairs. He will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Evelyn Keen, Jr., and his paternal grandfather, James B. McFarland, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Family and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. In his memory, contributions may to be made to the McFarland Children Educational Trust, c/o Downingtown National Bank, 104 Culbertson Run Road, Downingtown, PA 19335.
