Services for Coyle C. Riley, 88, of the Perry Lutheran Home were at the Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines at 2 p.m. Thursday (today). Riley died Sunday [October 9, 1988] of a heart ailment at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines Entombment of the cremains was in Merle Hay Mausoleum. Riley was born in Greene County and had been retired several years. He was a self-employed building contractor and had lived in Des Moines and Windsor Heights before moving to Perry. He was a World War I veteran. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Riley was a member of the Perry First Presbyterian Church and also belonged to several organizations, including West Gate Adelphi Masonic Lodge No. 509 in Des Moines, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S., Ascalon Chapter 139, R.A.M., Temple Commandery No. 4, K.T., Raccoon Valley Shrine Club of Perry and Perry 50 Plus Club and Acanthus Chapter No. 530, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a life member of the Za-Ga-Zig Temple Tux Brigade. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the Perry Lutheran Home; two daughters, Wanda Jones of Cedar, Minn., and Betty Wagoner of Morton, Ill.; three brothers, Leo and Lysle, both of Perry, and Michael of Ocala, Fla,; five sisters, Joyce Maddy, Luella Brown, Myrtle Decker, Lois Howell and Hollis Stroud, all of Perry; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
