MRS. HAMMACK

VALLEY -- Mrs. Gladys G. Hammack, 86, of Valley died Friday evening, May 16, 2003 at Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with Dr. Jerome King officiating.

Mrs. Hammack is survived by her daughter, Janice (Charley) Stephens of the Lake Harding Community; two grandchildren, Kris (Sherri) Stephens of Athens, Ga., and Leah (Charlie) Worsham of Watkinsville, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Faye Gullatt and Margie Gullatt, both of Valley.

Born July 7, 1916 in Chambers County, Mrs. Hammack was a homemaker and had assisted her husband in their service station business. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. Mrs. Hammack was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hammack, and several brothers and sisters. She was the daughter of the late Nora Knight Gullatt and John Gullatt.

The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Shawmut in her memory.

Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley handled arrangements.
