Thomas Michael McCurdy 66, of Burgettstown, PA, died on Monday February 5,2007, at Donnell Hospice in Washington, PA. He was born February 26, 1940 in Marietta, OH, the son of Sara Eleanor Ritchhie McCurdy and the late Thomas E. McCurdy.

Tom graduated from Marietta High School class of 1958, and served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis and then in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed at Langeloth Metallurgical in Langeloth, Pa, as a purchasing agent, after many years in the maintenance department. He enjoyed playing golf in the Climax Golf League, and was a great story teller, cook, and baker. He was a member of Richard Vaux Lodge #454 F.&A.M., Valley of Pittsburgh Scottish Rite and Syria Shrine Center Pittsburgh, PA. He was also a member of American Legion Post #10 Weirton, WV. Tom was most proud to be a member of Weirton Steel Choral Society, and a life long member of Gilman United Methodist Church.

Surviving with his mother is his wife of forty years Martha Gross McCurdy, one son Michael S. McCurdy (Christine) of Garfield Heights, OH, and one daughter Shanna McCurdy-Thomey (Charles) of New Kensington, PA. He was Pap-Pap to three grandchildren Conner Thomas and Madison Elizabeth McCurdy and Alexandia Grace Thomey. A brother Jon C. McCurdy (Kathy) Morgantown, WV, three sisters Karen Burton, Christine Sloter, and Joanna Lupardus (Ron), and a brother in law William Gross (Linda) all of Marietta, OH. Charles McCurdy of Beverly, OH is an uncle along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday February 9, 2007 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, with Rev. Nancy O'Dell officiating burial with full military honors to follow inn Salem Township Cemetery.
