Janice Parkest, 63, of Hanson, KY passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at her home.

She was born on April 20, 1950 in Madisonville, KY to the late Jessie Mae Allen and Lewis Wesley Allen. She was formerly employed with Whirlpool and greatly appreciated her experiences while volunteering with the Center for Abused Women and Children.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Gene Allen.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Kenneth Parkest; her daughters, Angela Allen of Franklin, KY and Christial Bagwell of Madisonville, KY; her son, Robert Dale McGregor of Franklin, KY; her sister, Sarah Laughlin of Kansas; her brothers, Tommy Allen of Manitou, KY, Zack Allen of Madisonville and Earl Ray Allen of Kentucky; her best friends, Judy Luck of Coiltown, KY and Mary Helen Hendrix of Franklin, KY; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
