Archie Lawhead Dies At The Age Of 68

Archie Lawhead of 810 South Cowen street, Garrett. a retired employee of Electric Motors & Specialties Inc., Garrett, died Wednesday from complications in the Garrett Community hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 5.

Lawhead had been in ill health for several years. He was a patient for 18 months at the Irene Byron hospital, near Fort Wayne, being released June 29, 1962.

His body was taken to Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev V. F. Owens of the Auburn Nazarene church will officiate and burial will follow in Roselawn cemetery, near Auburn.

Mr. Lawhead was born in Jackson township, DeKalb counTy, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lawhead. His wife, the former Thelma Elsner, died March 3, 1962.

Surviving are two sons. Gilbert, at home, and Nixon, with the U.S. Army in Germany; one grandchild and a sister, Mrs.. Orpha Adams of the Methodist Memorial Home at Warren.
