A former Auburn resident, Mrs. Thelma B. Lawhead, died at the age of 57 at a son's home in Garrett at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Lawhead died from complications arising from a fall at a convalescent home in Fort Wayne eight months ago. She was employed as a practical nurse at the convalescent home.
The body was removed to the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Odin C. Memering, pastor of the First Christian church of Auburn, officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery, near Auburn.
She was born in Ashley on March 30, 1904, and was the daughter of Mrs. Maurice Beber of near Auburn, and the late Maurice Elsner.
She and Archie Lawhead were married in 1924 and later divorced. She had resided in Garrett with the son, Gilbert Lawhead, for the past seven months.
Also surviving are another son, Nixon Lawhead, in service at Fort Rucker, Ala.; a brother, Maurice Elsner of 1314 Pearl street, Auburn; four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Halett of Wolcottville, Mrs. Orlo Kohn of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Maurice Chisholm of Rt. 2, Garrett, and Mrs. John Risk a s of Phoenix, Ariz., and one grandchild.
Mrs. Lawhead was a member of the First Christian church of Auburn.
