DR. JOSEPH EGGERS (d. 1947)

Dr. Joseph Eggers, 76, (photo) practicing dentist in Two Rivers for 51 years, died
suddenly Sunday evening at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital. He was taken ill Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Beduhn funeral home in Two Rivers, with burial in Pioneers Rest cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Dr. Eggers was born in Two Rivers in 1871 and following graduation from high school entered the Chicago Dental college from which he was graduated in 1896.
He returned to Two Rivers to open his dental office on Washington street.
In 1896 he married Miss Ann Nottage and the couple observed their golend wedding in 1946.
Dr. Eggers was a member of the county Dental society and formerly was associated with the Masonic, Elks and Odd Fellows lodges. A number of years ago he served as a member of the school board in Two Rivers.
Surviving are the wife; two sons, Joseph Jr., of Two Rivers and Willot of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. R.G. Strong of Manitowoc; two grandchildren; one sister, Miss Louise Eggers of Two Rivers; two brothers, Dr. George Eggers of Cudahy and Dr. Harold Eggers of Omaha, Nebr.
