Mr. Ivy L. Chambers, Sr., 68, of N. 2nd St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the peace and love of his home.

He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Alice Chambers and Jentress Davis, a graduate of the former William Penn Senior High School, retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of General Services, an avid sports' fan and in his leisure, enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and playing cards.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his son, Ivy L. Chambers, Jr. and his sister, Betty Chambers and leaves to celebrate his life, his sons, Anthony Thompson and Isaiah Chambers, both of Harrisburg; his daughters, Valerie Chambers-McIntyre of Ohio and Alicia Cooksey; his sisters, Sara Stephens, Saundra Williams and Linda Crankfield, all of Harrisburg; his eight grandchildren; his eight great grands and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His life will be celebrated on Thursday, April 17th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
