WALTER "WALT" TAYLOR BRAY JR. On the afternoon of April 10, 2014, Walt passed away peacefully in Oroville, California due to heart failure. He was 89 years old. Walt was born in Umatilla, Oregon on September 23, 1924. He was the 8th of 12 children by Walter Sr. and Frances Bray. Walt served in the Pacific Campaign of World War II as an Electronic Technicians Mate on a motor torpedo boat in the 7th Fleet. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal, and the American Area Campaign Medal. Upon his return, he earned his Masters in Education and was a beloved teacher and principal. Walt enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and was a member of the Geological Society. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. Walt is survived by his wife, Bernice Bray, and his sons, Kevin Bray, Charles Sullins, Rod Sullins, and Terry Sullins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on May 5th at 1:00 pm at the Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2350 Foothill Blvd. in Oroville.
