Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Fern (Gehris) Goss. Barnett had been employed for 15 years in utilization review by Pottstown Medical Center, last working Feb. 28, 2004. She previously worked for 20 years as assistant to the chief of surgery at Reading Hospital. She was a 1960 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a graduate of the McCann School of Business, Reading. Barnett is survived by two daughters, Judy (Barnett) Creps and Tema R. Barnett. Other survivors include a brother, Wesley H. Goss, and a sister, Paulette F. (Goss) Shuker. There are also four grandchildren.
