Daniel David Mills, 37, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly Friday, April 11, 2014.
He was born March 3, 1977 in Cincinnati, the son of Daniel L. and Donette Gregory Mills.
On Sept. 2, 2000, he married the former Tangela "Tangie" Smalley, who survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Daniel and Donette Mills of Frankfort; one daughter, Kierra Mills at home; a stepson, Christopher Smalley of Peebles; granddaughter, Abigail Smalley; two sisters, Katrina (Larry) Tennant of Frankfort and Amy (Jerry) Butts of Kettering; one brother, William Mills of Frankfort; nieces and nephews, Jeremyah, Jenna, Dakota, Zachary and Makayla Tennant, and Trinity and Makenna Butts; and his beloved coonhound, Raider.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Beth Mills; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Ellen Gregory; and paternal grandmother, Phyllis Mills.
Dave was a 1996 graduate of North College Hill High School and had worked as an equipment operator for Asplundh Tree Company. He was a member of the Paint Creek Coon Hunters Association and an avid coonhunter and bow shooter. He served during Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Army National Guard.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18 at the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by The Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A veteran's appreciation service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 7.
