Evelyn Mae “Ebb” Pullen, 96, of Milton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. She was born June 1, 1920 in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Creth and Cecilia Sovine Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Pullen; three sisters, Ida Francis Eves, Martha Ellen Chapman and Freeda W. Chapman; and two brothers, Harold “Buck” Chapman and Charles R. Chapman. Following the passing of her mother, Evelyn cared for and helped raise her eight younger siblings. During the entirety of her life, Evelyn was fiercely independent and remained devoted to her family. She was also a lifetime member of Providence Baptist Church, Milton. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue Morgan of Ona; her son, Stephen M. Pullen of Kings Mountain, NC; two sisters, Dorothy E. Chapman and Wanda Jane (Carlos) Hensley, both of Milton; one brother, Donald C. (Freda) Chapman of Milton; two grandchildren, Kristi Renee Berlt-Pena of Orlando, FL and Sarah Elizabeth Morgan of Ona; special niece, Amy R. Leslie of Hurricane and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Rodney Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15 at the funeral home.
