ABBEVILLE - Hammie G. Ethridge, 98, of 1610 Hwy 20, wife of the late James Alvin Ethridge, Sr., died Monday, August 23, 2004, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Ethridge was a member of Westside Baptist Church, an avid gardener and
enjoyed spending time with her family.
A son, James Alvin Ethridge, Jr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two sons, William W. Ethridge of Omaha, NE and Bobby R.
Ethridge of Abbeville; three daughters, Carolyn Wiley Duskin of Abbeville, Shirley
Bullington of Albany, GA and Frances Clemons of Abbeville; twelve grandchildren;
eleven great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Mrs. Ethridge was
the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M. (TONIGHT) Wednesday, August 25, 2004
at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 5 P.M. Thursday, August 26, 2004
at Westside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. James Long. Interment will
follow in Forest Lawn Memory Garden.
The family will be at the home of George and Patty Guy, 104 Sunset Dr., Abbeville.
