Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Alexandria Shelton, age 21, who passed away Saturday, April 13, 2014 in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Alexandria was a native of Troy, Missouri and lived most of her life in the Lafayette area. She was studying Criminal Justice at Grambling State University, where she would graduate with honors in May 2014.
Survivors include her parents, Norville Shelton and the former Lucretia Alex, of Lafayette; two brothers, Phillip Shelton and Justin Alex, both of Lafayette; three sisters, Tameka Joseph, Valerie Shelton and Victoria Shelton, all of Lafayette; her paternal grandmother, Lillie Williams of Foley, MO; and her maternal grandmother, Velma St. Julien and husband, Alfred, of Lafayette. She was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harold Shelton.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
