Wanda Faye (Swinford) McKay, 97, of Anderson, died April 26, 2012, at Saint John's Medical Center following a sudden illness.

She was born May 17, 1914, in Anderson, to Everett and Lula (Hudson) Swinford, and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Homemakers Clubs and supported 4-H.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (John) Carter of Anderson; her brother, Ora "Gene" Swinford (Joanne Poore) of Daleville; her sister, Pauline (Jack) Gwin of Anderson; three grandchildren, Kristina (Steve) Chapin-Santichen, Kim Chapin and Casey (Julie) Chapin; four step-grandchildren, Laura Waugh, Mary Beth Cook, Heidi Escudero and Michelle Smith; four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Nathan Santichen, Micah and Isaac Chapin; and a great-great-grandson, Brentin Waugh; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Philip McKay, whom she married Sept. 27, 1932, in Anderson; three brothers, Dallas, Harry and Jimmy Swinford; and her sister, Reba Swinford.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Alvin Dayton officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or Saint John's Hospice.
