Eva Marie O'Dell, the daughter of Carl Edwin and Alice Mae Snively Anderson, was born June 11, 1945, in Braddyville, Iowa. Eva was the youngest of five children that was raised on the family farm near Braddyville. She graduated from South Page High School near College Springs, Iowa.

Eva moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where she worked 29 years for Heartland Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. After retiring from Heartland Hospital, she worked at Terrible's Casino, St. Joseph, until a heart attack at the age of 62, forced her retirement.

Eva moved to Rock Port, Missouri, in March of 2012 to be closer to her niece, Connie Shandy, and her family. Eva enjoyed her new home as a resident of the Pleasant View Nursing Home where the many activities kept her busy and happy. Eva participated in a pageant to be Nursing Home Queen. She won the district 2 level and went on to the state competition where she greatly enjoyed herself and the Elvis Impersonator who was featured there. Eva was an Elvis fan her entire life. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, putting jigsaw puzzles together, crocheting, and crafts of all kinds. Her newest hobby was going to her nieces to watch the birds and identifying them. Eva passed away suddenly Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 68.

Besides her parents, Ed and Mae, Eva was preceded in death by one infant child, John Steven Beckel, Jr.; three sisters, Hazel Mae Miller, Mabel Hamilton, and Dorothy Daugherty. She is survived by one brother, Charles Anderson, Laramie, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews.
