She appears in the 1880 census with Simon and Penelope as having been born about 1875. It may be that Rebecca later in life did not give out her actual birth year, and thus a neighbor like H G Widener could have been mistaken as to the correct year of birth. The 1900 census record gives Rebecca's birth as Feb 1880, so that further muddies the waters.
