"The last sad rites of the church were performed over the remains of the late Mrs. Allan, at the residence of her son. Mr. Thomas Finnegan, on Belville street, yesterday evening at 4 o'clock. the funeral of this truly good woman was largely attended by her score of friends and relatives. Mrs. Allan was a woman of great intelligence, and was possessed of many traits of character that will long cause her memory to be cherished. All her family survive her with the exception of one son, Hon. James Finnegan, who, for several years, was the assessor from this district, and her husband, who died some years ago. The burial service was read by the Rev. Fathers Blenk and Dempsey. The interment was in the St. Mary's cemetery."
