1939 – 2014
Mrs. Patsy Sue (Schwartz) Bishop, age 74, left this world bound for her heavenly home on April 11th at 4:45 AM, in Harrisburg Medical Center.
Patsy was born on August 8, 1939 to her parents, Iva (Thompson) and Freeman Schwartz who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, William "Bill" Bishop, on July 26, 1963. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2006. Their beloved daughter, Kimberly Suzanne Bishop survives.
Patsy retired from CIPS after 40 years of service. She was proud to be a Christian and attended church regularly.
Family meant everything to Patsy, and she will be missed by many. She leaves behind a dear sister, Betty Golish. In addition Patsy is survived by two sisters-in-law, Beverly (Mike) Hays, and Velma (Jack) Wiggins, as well as a brother-in-law, Norman (Felicia) Bishop. Patsy was blessed to have many nieces and nephews; Cheri Golish, Mark (Lisa) Golish, Lisa Johnson, Mike Golish, Tina (Joey) Younger, Tami (Tim) Swan, Teri (Tony) Reynolds, Jan (Gary) Patrick, and Cindy (Joe) Poirot. She is survived by many great nieces and nephews and even great-great nieces and nephews. Patsy was honored to be called MeMaw by four special boys; Dalton, Dylan, Ethan and Kayden Golish.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, "Bill", brother, Charles "Bud" Schwartz, and his wife, Frances; nephew, Larry Wayne Schwartz; nephew, Rodney Lee Johnson, and a brother-in-law, Rev. Rudy Golish.
Funeral services will held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
Josh Golish and Mark Golish will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
