Marvin "Muff" Weber, age 82, of Elkhart Lake, passed away at home on April 12, 2014.
He was born in Elkhart Lake on June 21, 1931, a son of the late Edward Sr. and Eleanor (Wieseckel) Weber.
He graduated in 1949 from Elkhart Lake High School. On January 17, 1953, he married Elvira A. Noth of Plymouth, in the rectory of St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Marvin was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (formerly St. George) in Elkhart Lake, serving as a permanent usher until his illness. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #1786 in Plymouth.
Marvin was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO for two years and was involved in the military exercise in Nevada. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he and his wife, Elvira, moved back to Wisconsin and eventually owned and operated Weber's Service Station for 27 years. They sponsored a softball team and two bowling teams because Muff enjoyed his many years of playing softball and bowling.
In the 1980s he became a substitute rural mail carrier for the US Post Office in Elkhart Lake. In 1983, he became a full-time mail carrier in Chilton, until he retired in 1993. During his retirement he became caretaker for Indiana University's Camp Brosius during their offseason.
Marvin served on the Elkhart Lake Village Board from 1964 to 1968. After his retirement, he was an election poll worker for the village. He was a proud member of the Elkhart Lake Volunteer Fire Department for 52 years. He was President of the Elkhart Lake Chamber of Commerce from 1980 to 1984, being elected king of their Schnee Days event in 1996. He was also a member of the Elkhart Lake Lions Club and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Muff was an active member of the Wisconsin Hunter's Education, serving as an instructor for 42 years in Plymouth. He was named Conservation Educator of the Year in 2001. He was also a charter member of the Winooski Bowmen Club.
Marvin loved his Wisconsin Sports. He was a boisterous Packer fan, going to the infamous Ice Bowl in 1967. He enjoyed watching the Brewers and Badgers play as well. He loved hunting and fishing, enjoying his time up north at their 80 acres.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years: Elvira; Three Daughters: Kathryn (Terry Jachowicz) Weber, Kay Marie (Wayne) Thuecks, and Patti (Thomas) Pitzen; Two Sons: John (Brenda) Weber and Joel (Sandi) Weber; 9 Grandchildren: Rebecca Thuecks (Special friend: Aaron), Kimberly (Paul) Servais, Jacki (Michael) Brice, Jamie Pitzen, Amanda Weber (Special friend: Paul), Joshua (Maddison) Weber, Matthew, Emma, and Elizabeth Weber; Two Step-Grandchildren: Brett (Hilde) Bardo and Scott (Cindy) Bardo; Three Great-Grandchildren: Sierra, Gabrielle, and Levi; Three Step Great-Grandchildren: Timmy, Phillip, and Erik; Three Sisters-in-law: Ruth Tauscher, Dottie Weber, and Alice Weber.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday (April 16) at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call at the CHURCH on Tuesday (April 15) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites at the Church following the services.
