Carl "Rudy" Carlson, 84, of Marquette died Sunday, April 2, 2000 at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Monroe Evangelical Free Church north of Murphy with the Rev. Mark Dunham officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe Evangelical Free Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary.
Mr. Carlson was born July 31, 1915 to Ernest and Nannie (Lorentz) Carlson in Hamilton County where he attended county school. He graduated from Aurora High School, and then began farming with his father.
On June 12, 1947 he married Irene Carl in Grand Island. The couple farmed in the Marquette area.
He was a lifelong member of Monroe Evangelical Free Church where he held various offices. He also was a member of the Marquette school board and Marquette Co-op board.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Curtis of Marquette and Bill of Atlanta; three daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Roy) Bebee of Annapolis, Md., Ardith (Mrs. Barry) Handrup of Marquette and Dorene (Mrs. Daryl) Borgquist of Leesburg, Va.; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Ervin of Marquette.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adelin.
