Anna Ruel, daughter of François Ruel and Marcelline Gonthier Bernard, was born in Connecticut shortly after her family's immigration to the United States from Canada. Her family settled in Holyoke, Hampden, Massachusetts. Anna married Wilfred Solyme Benoit, son of Mastai Henry Benoit and Lea Arel. She was widowed in 1958. Anna died at age 84 and was interred in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
