Roger Lyle McNeil

Roger Lyle McNeil, 54, of Madison Place in Claremont, died Monday afternoon, October 18, 2004 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. He was born in Randolph, VT on November 29, 1949 the son of William and Clara (Holden) McNeil. He resided in Claremont for the past ten years and had previously lived in Reading and Springfield, VT.
He was an E-5 in the Windsor Vermont Army National Guard.
Roger was the supervisor of the window department at the Newport LaValley's Building Supply Store and had previously worked at Customized Structures, Inc. and several years as a self employed carpenter.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Claremont Country Club and the American Legion.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes. He was an avid hunter and golfer. He especially loved his family.
The surviving family includes his wife, Yvonne (Grout) McNeil of Claremont whom he married on November 29, 1969; two sons, Jeffrey McNeil of Weathersfield, VT and Jason McNeil of Charlestown; two granddaughters, Jessica McNeil and Jaylin McNeil; one grandson, Brady McNeil; two sisters, Kathleen Berry of Weathersfield, VT and Linda Wright of
Russel, NY; six brothers, Michael McNeil and Randy McNeil both of Claremont , Steve McNeil, Stuart McNeil, Robert McNeil, and William McNeil all of Weathersfield, VT also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22nd at One O'clock in the Stringer Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Ascutneyville Cemetery in Weathersfield, VT.
A time of fellowship and sharing will follow at the Elk's Lodge in Claremont.
