AUGUSTA - Beverly M. McFadden, 96, of Augusta, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Augusta Center for Health & Rehabilitation. She was born in Oakland on March 17, 1918, a daughter of Maynard and Ida Durgin Palmer. She was educated in Oakland schools. Beverly took care of all of her grandchildren. She loved to baby-sit. She was devoted to reading her Bible every day. Her biggest passion was collecting jewelry.

She was predeceased by her three sisters; two brothers; her husband, Aubrey McFadden; and her son, Richard McFadden.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Adams, of Augusta; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial with committal prayers will be later this spring in Mount Hope Cemetery in South Gardiner. (Kennebec Journal 3/31/2014)
