In another column same page: Death of Mrs Rush.

Another of the old residents of Peterborough passed quietly through the vale of the shadow this morning in the person of Mary Reynolds, relict of the late Thomas Rush sr. The deceased lady died at the residence of her son, Mr Thos Rush, Aylmer St, shortly before noon. Her demise was rather sudden, as the deceased had suffered from no marked ailment and was down stairs on Tuesday morning. But the weight of years had gradually weakened her until she passed away this morning. The deceased was in her seventy-eighth year when she died, having been born in the city of York, England, on the 11th of April 1812. She was the youngest daughter of Rev. John Reynolds and was married in England to the late Thomas Rush. She with her husband came to Canada in 1859 and lived for three years in Cobourg, at the end of which time they came to Peterborough, where Mr Rush died in 1869. Seven children survive the deceased lady, and she also has a brother Dr. Reynolds living in the Maritime Provinces. The children are [Sarah Elizabeth] Mrs F. Winch, [Charlotte] Mrs A. Sawers of town, [Lois] Mrs Hodgson, [Susannah Lillie] Mrs Crawford of New Orleans, [Mary?] Mrs Bruasch of Dayton Ohio, and Messrs H. and Thos. Rush of town. The funeral takes place from the residence of her son Mr T. Rush, 247 Aylmer St, on Saturday afternoon, 22nd inst. at 2.30 p.m.
