DEATH CALLS MRS. K. VAN RINGELENSTEIN

Mrs. Kathryn Van Ringelenstein passed away Tuesday morning at 3:30 o’clock at the home of her son, Cornelius Van Veen, 822 Oskaloosa street, at the age of 87 years, 1 months and two days.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:00 o’clock at the home and 1:30 o’clock at the First Christian Reformed church, Rev. Frank De Jong, officiating, and interment will take place in Oakwood..

Mrs. Van Ringelenstein, Kathryn Popma before marriage, was born in the province of Friesland, The Netherlands, and came to America when she was 20 years old.

She was first married to Cornelius Van Veen, who preceded her in death 45 years ago, when his son Cornelius was only 3 years old. To this marriage were born nine children, of whom only four are living.

Those who survive her are: Mrs. J.C. Sandmeier, Waukee, Iowa, Mrs. Florence Boesrup, Des Moines, Iowa, Herman Van Veen, residing north of Pella, and Cornelius of this city.
The other children were: John, who died in 1907; Pete, in 1897; Mrs. Alice Van Zomeren, in 1919, Mrs. C.E. Cawley in 1918, and Frank, in 1913.

She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, two brothers, Gerrit Popma of Orange City and Frank Popma of Maurice, Iowa.

Her second marriage 40 years ago was to Gerrit Van Ringelenstein, who died several years ago.

Mrs. Van Ringelenstein was a woman of strong Christian character and faith, she ever believed in the teaching of the bible, to which she was very loyal, and was a wonderful mother, always interested in her children and the affairs of the home. She was ready when the final summons came and in her last illness often expressed the desire to depart and be with Jesus.
