Edna "Vicki" L Smith, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, died at her home of 38 years on January 25, 2014. She was born on September 21, 1927 in Sedalia, Missouri. She was the daughter of Edward and Velma Kubli. Shortly after graduating from Smith-Cotton High School in 1945 she moved to Kansas City where she worked as an operator for AT&T for 17 years. She married Jay Blair Smith in 1951 and left AT&T in 1962 to focus her full attention on raising her family. After her children grew older, she also spent many years in clerical work at the IRS and US Department of Agriculture. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Janeen Rae Smith, a brother Kenneth Kubli, a sister June Kubli Fox, and two sisters-in-law, Sue Anne Kubli and Lois Jane Quirk. She is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, a sister and a brother, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service: Wesley Covenant Chapel, United Methodist Church of the Resurrection at 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, Kansas on February 1, 2014 at 11am where her ashes will be laid to rest in the Memorial Gardens.
