Grace Aas, 93, Climax, Minn. died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.

Grace Brokke was born May 18, 1909, the 11th child of Knute and Gertie (Nomland) Brokke in Bingham Township, rural Buxton, N.D. She attended rural school in Belmont Township, and Climax (Minn.) High School. She married Marcus Aas on May 1, 1937, at Crookston. They farmed near Climax, and moved to Climax in 1947 where they both worked as custodians and where she was a hot lunch cook at the Climax School and worked for 47 years, until her retirement in 1994. Marcus Aas died in 1973. She was active in the Ladies Aid at the Climax Lutheran Church and the quilting group. She was known for her beautiful crocheting and knitting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marcus, four brothers, Ole, Jorgen, Guy, and Clarence, and six sisters, Josie Gilbertson, Betty Hanson, Emma Estenson, Tillie Hedde, Leona Olson, and Della Strommen. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and her guardian families, George and Joyce Nornes, Gaye Lindfors, Julie Benedict, Lori Charron, and their families. Funeral Services: 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at the Climax Lutheran Church.

Visitation: 1 hour before services at the church.
