He was born on April 8, 1922, in Glidden, the son of Anna and Perry Singer. On Jan. 3, 1946, he married Amanda Lake. She preceded him in death on April 5, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his younger brother Perry "Bud" and his twin brother Clarence.
Clifford served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne during the Normandy Invasion. He was a heavy truck driver in the Red Ball Express, the battle of Normandy, Northern France and also in the Ardennes Rhineland in 1945 in World War II. He received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed by the Village of Jacobs, the Glidden School District and later self-employed.
